This mixed-media collage is one a a series of 4 pieces created using a predominantly gray-scale color palette. I enjoyed the challenge of working with this limited palette and building each composition with a variety of design elements.
About MaryJo Clark
MaryJo Clark is a former art teacher and Saint Louis artist. She is primarily a mixed-media collage artist, creating paper "painting" by arranging papers of various shapes, colors and textures as elements for creating unique compositions. The non-objective or abstract subject matter of MaryJo's mixed-media collages are designed to evoke unique responses from each viewer. MaryJo also creates pastel paintings. The subject matter of these pieces are usually more representational. Drawing has been the foundation of her artistic practice, and dry pastels provide the perfect medium for the blending of drawing and painting.
