This collage piece was designed as a companion piece my earlier collage, "Respite". Some of the same papers were used in both pieces as well as the loosely applied black acrylic to join the edges of each section. Beads and tiles provide additional embellishments to the composition.
MaryJo Clark is a former art teacher and Saint Louis artist. She is primarily a mixed-media collage artist, creating paper "painting" by arranging papers of various shapes, colors and textures as elements for creating unique compositions. The non-objective or abstract subject matter of MaryJo's mixed-media collages are designed to evoke unique responses from each viewer. MaryJo also creates pastel paintings.
