Artist's Description
"Turq-ish Delight" is a 10" square mixed media collage mounted on a cradle board. This piece began with a background of patterned black and white papers. I found a large flower on a wallpaper scrap and then altered it, and embellished it, with cut paper in the turquoise colors. A whimsical piece deserves a whimsical name!

MaryJo Clark is a former art teacher and Saint Louis artist. She is primarily a mixed-media collage artist, creating paper "painting" by arranging papers of various shapes, colors and textures as elements for creating unique compositions. The non-objective or abstract subject matter of MaryJo's mixed-media collages are designed to evoke unique responses from each viewer. MaryJo also creates pastel paintings. The subject matter of these pieces are usually more representational.
